DEFORMATION WAVE is the wave nature of the changes that occur when there are moving waves propagate shore ward. Deformation wave includes REFRACTION, DIFFRACTION, and REFLECTION.
THE FOLLOWING DESCRIPTION OF REFRACTION, DIFFRACTION DAN REFLECTION
- REFRACTION WAVES
Refraction waves is the bending of an incident wave direction entering the shallow waters due partly still waves propagate at the speed of the wave in the sea at the time of entry into the shallow sea. In addition to influencing the direction of the waves, refraction also affects the distribution of wave height and wave energy along the coast. In the deep ocean where the sea floor that has a very far distance from the surface of the seabed influence on the movement of the waves almost nothing. When the waves from the ocean in the head or moving toward shallow waters where sea depth factor is becoming increasingly instrumental in the propagation when seen a wave crest line and on the crest of a wave in the sea that is more shallow will move more slowly than in the sea deeper so consequently the wave crest line will undergo deflection and seeks to align with the contour line of the seabed / beach.
- WAVE DIFFRACTION
WAVE DIFFRACTION will occur when the wave comes blocked by a barrier that can be breakwater and small islands around it. As a result of blocked incoming wave will turn around the end of the obstacle / barrier and into the sheltered area behind it. In this case, there will be a transfer of energy in the direction perpendicular to the protected area. Wave diffraction phenomenon is very important to note in Port Planning and Building breaking wave.
- REFLECTION WAVE
REFLECTION WAVE is a reflection of a wave that occurs when the waves come hit or strike a wall or barrier such as breakwater. The phenomenon of reflection can be found in the harbor pool. Reflection wave reflection coefficients can be determined by different for various kinds and types of buildings.
Building type
Reflection coefficient
Vertical wall with a peak on the water = 0.7 to 1.0
Vertical wall with peak submerged in water = 0.5 to 0.7
Rock pile hypotenuse = 0.3 to 0.6
Piles of concrete blocks = 0.3 to 0.5
Vertical buildings with energy absorbers (hole) = 0.05 to 0.2
Enough so that can be delivered on the article IS DEFORMATION WAVES. Hopefully with this matter our science more broadly, especially in the world of Shipping and hopefully with this article we know more about what it REFRACTION, DIFFRACTION and REFLECTION. Thanks Hopefully Helpful.
