DREDGING WHETHER OR DREDGING 

Good morning and welcome move, but before doing the activity to read this article about DREDGING WHETHER OR DREDGING. In Marine engineering study program is very important to read and understand what exactly is meant Dredging or Dredging. Therefore on this occasion Material Shipping will share understanding Dredging.

DEFINITION OF DREDGING 

In English, the technical term that means Dredging DREDGING. And this Dredging word actually comes from the word Dredge or rake. The notion according to the dictionary, a process or do something by way of dredge. Meanwhile, according to the AIP (International Association of the Company) that DREDGING is the basic process of making material in the water which is usually derived from shallow sea, river, lake, etc. are then retrieved material moved elsewhere or discharged to a location. In the process of dredging is not done by diving to retrieve the material or soil at the base of the water but done using dredges course with  equipment and special tools according to the location that will be dredged, as an example dredging shallow sandy seabed.

 The dredging activity is fairly old and has been around since the 60's, which was once all dredging work carried out by the Government Office of Dredging (DP) under the Directorate General of Sea Transportation Agencies. And in 64 DP switch into the Port of Port Concession Agency or abbreviated by (BPP). So on the 30th of april 1983 Port Concession Agency change its status to a Public Corporation Dredging fostered by the Department of Transportation. This status long enough to run about 8 years finally on 1 October 1991 Housing Dredging is made into a Limited Liability Company (Persero) with Dredging Indonesia or abbreviated name with PT.RUKINDO.

Up until now PT. Rukindo has a lot do with the operation of various types of dredgers Trailing Suction Hopper as ship Dredger (TSHD), CSD (Cutter Suction Dredger), Clamshell and others.
To type TSHD dredger has Fleet, among others:

     TSHD. BALI - II,
     TSHD. ARU - II,
     TSHD. KALIMANTAN - II,
     TSHD. Irian Jaya,
     TSHD.SERAM,
     TSHD.BETUAH,
     TSHD. SULAWESI-II,
     TSHD.HALMAHERA,
     TSHD. EAST,
     TSHD. BANDA,
     TSHD. NATUNA

For CSD type operated, among others:

CSD. Batang Anai
